Smoking Is Not Allowed For Moslem

Majelis Ulama Indonesia (Indonesian Ulemas Council) plans to issue fatwas about smoking prohibition (haraam) for Moslem. As a person that hate smoking, I must confess that I really support it and waiting for the fatwas.

MUI considers the badness and the goodness of something before issuing prohibitions. In this case, smoking is considered to have many harmful and no benefit, not only for the smoker, but also for the passive smoker. In accordance with the teaching of Islam, it’s not allowed for Moslem to do something that have more badness than goodness, such as drinking alcohol, gambling, prostitution, etc.
